{Blissful Bride Tip} Handling Compromise

brideAs you plan and prepare for your one of the most special days of your life, your Wedding Day, do you feel like you are having to compromise on things that are actually quite important to you?

Today, I want to offer you a few tips on how to really stand up for yourself – and your wedding desires – when it comes to planning your dream wedding.

The first piece of advice I can give around this is for you to write down the things that are most important to you.  For example, if having real flowers instead of silk flowers is a must-have on your list, then write that down. Same goes for a live band vs. a DJ.  Write down everything you are not willing to negotiate on.

From there, I invite you to list out the reasons why these are non-negotiables. You might realize in doing this exercise that some of the things you thought you weren’t willing to compromise on, are things you are okay with going without.

By writing it all out, you’ll have a clear idea of what you are – and more importantly, aren’t – willing to give up in order to have your dream wedding.

As always, if you’re feeling like you need support in sticking up for your wants and desires as you plan your Wedding, I’d love to support you.  As a Blissful Bride Coach, I love supporting brides in having an incredibly Blissful engagement and wedding experience and would love to offer you a complimentary Bridal Empowerment Session with me.

Great advice! I’ll have to make a list myself! I’m sure this would help many brides who have pushy opinions coming from other directions.

This is a really good tip Jennifer. Writing things down make getting the picture of what you want your wedding to be so much clearer and it will help brides to communicate their vision with others much more easily.

    Thank you for sharing. :)

Love the idea of being a “blissful bride”! So much nicer than a bridezilla.
